On April 26, 2026, a new performing arts space will open in Berkeley with the presentation of Witness the Fool.
This is not simply a premiere, but the unfolding of a creative process shaped through time, presence, and a sustained commitment to listening—listening to the body, to memory, and to what emerges when form is not imposed too quickly.
At the heart of this process is the accompaniment of Barri Goldwasser and the methodology of Rooted Coaching.
Rooted Coaching approaches creation as a living, embodied practice. Rather than beginning with fixed ideas or outcomes, the work begins with sensation—with breath, impulse, resistance, and attention. From there, the creative process unfolds as something discovered rather than constructed.
