As a nonprofit organization currently in formation, Moving Roots works alongside artists, organizations, community leaders, and local collectives to create initiatives shaped by the lived experiences, strengths, and needs of the communities it serves.

ORGANIZATIONAL

Aproach

Moving Roots understands community wellbeing as a collective and multidimensional process.

Rather than centering individual disciplines or isolated programs, the organization develops collaborative initiatives that respond to real community needs through interconnected cultural, creative, educational, and community-based practices.

Artistic expression, embodied learning, cultural exchange, and collective care are approached as complementary tools that can strengthen connection, participation, resilience, and community support.

Moving Roots seeks to work collaboratively with:

ARTIST, COMMUNITY LEADERS, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS, EDUCATORS, CULTURAL WORKERS, LOCAL COLLECTIVES, FACILITATORS AND INTERDISCIPLINARY PRACTITIONERS

The organization aims to support and co-develop programs that contribute positively to individual and collective wellbeing while remaining grounded in the realities, knowledge, and strengths of each community.

-------------------------------

Core Principles

Programs are developed through listening, collaboration, and engagement with real community experiences and needs.

Wellbeing is understood as relational, cultural, emotional, and communal rather than solely individual.

The organization values cultural continuity, shared knowledge, intergenerational exchange, and community participation.

Meaningful impact emerges through partnerships, mutual support, and collaborative processes.

Moving Roots seeks to create welcoming and participatory spaces accessible to diverse communities.
